Questions before the first call

Short answers. Each case turns on its own facts.

Will I lose my license?

A DUI arrest can start an administrative suspension that is separate from the criminal case, with its own short deadline to ask for a hearing. Call or text right away so that deadline is not missed. What happens after that depends on your record and the facts.

I was stopped last night. What do I do first?

Write down what you remember: where, when, what you were asked, and what you drank and when. Keep every paper you were handed. Then call or text. The papers show which deadline comes first.

Can you help if I don't speak much English?

Yes. Armando speaks Spanish with clients, in meetings and on the phone, and explains each paper in the language you read best. Court hearings are held in English, and he speaks for you there.

Do I have to come to the office?

Not for the first conversation. A call or a text is enough to start, and you can send photos of your papers once Armando asks for them. Longer meetings can be by phone or at the office on Spencer Highway.

What does it cost?

It depends on the charge and the court. Armando quotes a fee in writing after he has read your papers, before you agree to anything.

What if I refused the breath or blood test?

A refusal can bring its own suspension, and the prosecutor may build the case around it. Bring the notice you were given. How the officer asked, and what you were told, matters.

Does a ticket really need a lawyer?

Many don't. A ticket is worth a call when it carries points, a possible suspension, a crash, or a commercial license behind it. Armando will say plainly if paying is the better choice.

Can you promise me a dismissal?

No. No lawyer can. Armando can tell you what he sees in the papers, what the realistic options are, and what each one costs you.

Is what I tell you kept private?

Once you hire Armando, what you tell him is protected. Before that, a call or a text does not create that protection, so keep the first message short and save the details for a conversation.

Not on the list? Text it.

Text it, and Armando will answer or call you back.

Texts aren't private. Please don't send confidential details by text; Armando will ask for them on a call.
